Israeli Navy intercepts the "Global Resilience Fleet" and detains approximately 175 activists

The Israeli Navy detained approximately 175 activists attempting to break through its maritime blockade of the Gaza Strip.
The fleet is called the “Global Resilience Fleet,” consisting of 58 ships.
The Israeli military intercepted 21 of them near the Greek island of Crete on the night of April 29, and the remaining ships have been warned to change course or face similar action.
On social media platform X, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a video stating that some of the detained individuals are “in good condition on Israeli ships,” and that “about 175 activists from more than 20 ships are being smoothly transported to Israel.”
In the early hours of the 30th, Hamas senior member Usama Hamdan accused the Israeli Navy’s interception of the “Global Resilience Fleet” ships of “piracy, violating international law.”
