Elon Musk's lawsuit against OpenAI enters cross-examination phase
CryptoWorld News reports that the Musk vs. OpenAI case entered the cross-examination phase on Wednesday, with OpenAI lawyer Savitt reconstructing the timeline using Musk’s emails and text messages.
In spring 2017, Musk stopped paying $5 million quarterly, becoming OpenAI’s main source of funding.
Family office head Birchall inquired whether to continue the deductions, to which Musk replied “yes.”
In September, Musk requested to select four directors, but OpenAI co-founder Sutskever refused, believing it gave Musk too much power.
In October, Musk, serving on the OpenAI board, began recruiting, writing to Tesla Vice President that he had persuaded Karpathy to join Tesla.
Savitt used text messages to prove that Musk continued to access internal information through Zilis after leaving OpenAI.
During cross-examination, Musk expressed dissatisfaction, stating Savitt’s questions “are designed to deceive me.”
Judge Gonzalez-Rogers urged both parties to remain calm.
