Meta Launches Stablecoin Payments for Creators via Stripe Using USDC

On April 30, Meta will launch stablecoin payments for creators through Stripe, planning to settle using Circle’s USDC on the Solana and Polygon blockchains. This marks a significant step for a major tech company in integrating cryptocurrency into the mainstream creator economy. The feature will initially pilot with creators in Colombia and the Philippines, who will need to convert USDC to local currency through local exchanges, as Meta does not provide direct fiat currency exchange services. Meta previously abandoned the Libra project in 2022 due to regulatory hurdles, and this collaboration leverages existing stablecoin infrastructure to reduce compliance risks and enhance cross-border payment efficiency.
