The 4th time proposing a DAO voting proposal, I almost want to laugh: on the surface it says "Increase participation," but below, the incentives are laid out, and voting power is basically locked by those few groups. Honestly, it's not that you don't care about governance, but your votes can't buy you influence at all, and you have to conveniently take the blame for others.
Airdrop season makes everyone feel like clocking in at work; the more strict the anti-witch platform becomes, the more intense the points system gets. As a result, many people voting in DAOs treat it like completing tasks: liking a post, signing in, then leaving. But what's truly valuable in proposals isn't whether you vote or not, but where the money comes from, who ultimately gets it, and who can decide how the next rules are changed... Anyway, I now look for the phrase "by a certain committee/multi-signature execution" in proposals first, then decide whether to pretend I participated.
