Why do I get itchy hands? Basically, when I see others posting screenshots of "motivation boost, TVL skyrocketing," I mistakenly think that liquidity has thickened and risks have decreased, so I want to turn up the leverage a bit... But often, it's just quick profit from mining and selling, and I leave just as fast.
Recently, I reviewed an experience where I almost got liquidated: the oracle feed price had a delay of a few minutes, and the actual on-chain transactions had already started to decline, but the feed price hadn't caught up yet, so the position looked "okay"; when the feed price finally updated, it jumped directly to a lower reference price, and the liquidation line seemed to be pushed up, leaving no time to add margin before the system processed it according to the rules. It's not that I judged the wrong direction, but the time lag trapped me.
My current approach is very crude: during new chain launches and incentive periods, I try to use as little leverage as possible, even if it means earning less; if I really want to play, I leave the liquidation price further away, and don't expect "I can outrun the feed update." Anyway, the market won't reward me for being cautious, but it will punish me for taking chances once.
