U.S. Treasury Secretary says will continue to apply "maximum pressure" on Iran

U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent said in a social media post on the 21st that the U.S. Navy will continue to blockade Iranian ports, and the U.S. Treasury will continue to apply “maximum pressure” on Iran. Bessent said that within a few days, the oil storage facilities at Iran’s key oil export hub, Khark Island, will reach capacity saturation, and Iran’s oil wells will be shut down. He said that restricting Iran’s maritime trade can directly target its main channel of income. Bessent also said that the U.S. Treasury will continue to apply “maximum pressure” on Iran through “Economic Fury Action,” to “systematically weaken Iran’s ability to raise, transfer, and recycle funds.”(Xinhua News Agency)
