The European Union requires Google to open the Android operating system to AI competitors.

Mars Finance News April 28 – The European Commission announced on the 27th local time that it is seeking public comments on measures to ensure interoperability with Google’s Android system under the EU Digital Markets Act, and has clarified to Google how it should open up the Android operating system to accommodate artificial intelligence services that compete with Google’s own services. The European Commission stated that Google should ensure that AI services competing with it can “effectively interact” with applications on Android devices, and these services should be able to perform tasks such as sending emails using the user’s preferred email app, placing orders through food delivery apps, or sharing photos with friends.
