White House: Trump and his national security team hold a meeting to discuss the new Iran proposal
Jinse Finance reports that on April 28, at a press conference, White House press secretary Leavitt confirmed that President Trump and his national security team held a meeting that day to discuss a new negotiation proposal put forward by Iran. Leavitt said she was not sure whether the meeting had already ended, but the relevant proposal was indeed being discussed. However, she “did not want to speak before the president or his national security team.”
According to a report by the U.S. news website Axios on the 26th, a U.S. official and two people with knowledge of the matter said the United States has received Iran’s new negotiation proposal, which Iran submitted via Pakistan. Iran’s new negotiation proposal first focuses on resolving the Strait of Hormuz crisis and the U.S. maritime blockade against Iran. As part of the proposal, the ceasefire would be extended for the long term, or the parties would agree to permanently end the fighting. Nuclear negotiations would only begin after the Strait of Hormuz is reopened and the United States lifts the blockade. (Xinhua News Agency)
