Crypto World News reports that, according to Bitcoin Magazine, Paul Atkins, Chairman of the U.S. SEC, and Mike Selig, Chairman of the CFTC, announced at the 2026 Bitcoin Conference that U.S. cryptocurrency regulation has entered a “new era.” The two agencies are strengthening cooperation on digital assets and, through joint token classification guidance, distinguishing digital commodities, collectibles, and tokenized securities. Atkins said that in the coming weeks, the SEC will allow companies to test on-chain tokenization and securitization tools in a regulated environment, while crypto market structure legislation such as the Clarity Act may see progress in May and is expected to be passed in June.
