I’ve been rummaging through my pile of PFPs and membership passes again lately. Even the floor is almost turned to dust, yet I still can’t bring myself to clean them out. To put it plainly, it’s just a bet that one day they’ll “brand” themselves and pull me back to shore. But the more I look at it, the more it feels like many memberships are more like buying attention—everyone gets excited for a couple of weeks and then disperses, while I’m still stuck in the group posting memes and self-entertaining like a fragment collector…

That whole chain game setup also looks pretty similar: the moment inflation rolls in, the studio moves in, the token price spirals, and the so-called “community” immediately turns into a group for people to work for. Anyway, I trust more in the kind of things that can keep giving you real utility/a sense of identity—otherwise, no matter how cool the avatar is, it’s just an image. When it stops being hot, it stops being hot. I’ll keep being a dust collector for now, slowly waiting for projects with real patience to show up.
