Step 1: Log in to the official website
Open
Click Login at the top right corner
Preferably choose Google or GitHub for one-click login
or Continue with email → Enter email → Next → Receive 6-digit verification code
After logging in, enter an English username (e.g., test2026) → Create NVIDIA Cloud Account
Little tip🧐: Use only English letters and numbers for your account and cloud account, or you'll get stuck immediately
Step 2: Phone number verification
After logging in, the system will ask you to verify your phone number. Click Verify
Click Verify
Select the corresponding country code
Enter your phone number → Send Code via SMS
Enter the received verification code → Verify
Little tip🧐: If stuck, switch to incognito mode in your browser and retry, proven effective
Step 3: Generate API Key
Click your avatar/username at the top right → API Keys
Click Generate API Key
Click Generate API Key again
Key Name can be anything (e.g., hermes-key)
Expiration time: select Never Expire (never expires!)
Click Generate
Immediately select all and copy the key starting with nvapi-
Then paste the copied key into the NVIDIA_API_KEY field of Hermes Agent.
One last bit of trivia:
1. Free tier has rate limits (about 40 times/minute), enough for daily Hermes Agent use, not suitable for high concurrency production environments.
2. Usually, 1000+ credits are given upon registration, enough for you to enjoy for a while. When used up, apply again on the official website.
3. Currently supports a bunch of models, including MiniMax, Kimi-K2.5, GLM-5, etc., all tested to be very stable.
