My Gate AI User Experience Report
Gate AI Assistant is the longest-used Gate AI product in my experience, with about half a month of hands-on use. Today, I want to share my user experience report and see how it differs from AI assistants like Doubao, Wenxin Yiyan, and others. While writing this article, I had a sudden idea: what if AI could evaluate itself? So, some of the opinions and comparisons are from Gate AI itself.
🙋Reviewer: Little Wealth God Plutus
📌Environment: Web version / Latest Google Chrome
1. How to Find Gate AI
After opening gate.com, the entrance to Gate AI is quite easy to find. In the bottom right corner of the page, there is a floating chat bubble icon. Clicking it will bring up the AI chat window, no need to switch pages or register separately. Just log in to use it directly. The entire access path is very short: Enter the site → Click the floating button → Start chatting. For users accustomed to quick operations within exchanges, this embedded design is much smoother than opening a separate AI product website.
The only thing to get used to is that Gate AI is embedded as a sidebar popup rather than a full-screen chat interface. For users used to reading long texts on a large screen, the visual space might feel a bit cramped. However, for scenarios like "watching market quotes while asking AI," this design is actually quite reasonable.
2. Homepage and Feature Highlights
1. Unlike traditional AI assistant pages, Gate AI’s homepage resembles a news + AI platform. However, these news items are not manually curated but are hot topics filtered by AI based on search frequency.
2. The chat window with Gate AI allows you to select the scope of information sources, and supports text and language input.
3. When entering the Gate AI chat page, a reminder on the left side suggests linking Gate AI with social platforms to maximize its functionality. This is very friendly for new users.
4. The entire usage process requires no installation or coding; everything is done through visual interaction, making it very accessible.
3. Response Speed
✅For ordinary Q&A requests (such as checking the price of a certain coin or asking about platform rules), responses typically appear within 2-3 seconds after the first character, with stable streaming output and no obvious lag. For complex requests involving multiple tool calls (such as checking market data, analyzing sectors, and providing recommendations), the wait time is around 8-15 seconds, with a "thinking" status indicator. The experience feels smooth and does not give the impression that the system has lost connection.
✅Deep research tasks (such as systematic analysis of a specific sector) take longer, about 1-3 minutes, and there is room for optimization.
4. Product Positioning and Target User Groups
Gate AI’s positioning is very clear — it serves users of exchanges with a certain cryptocurrency background, rather than the general AI assistant market.
Specifically, there are three main user groups that fit best:
✅Active traders: Users who need quick access to market quotes, sector updates, and technical analysis information. Gate AI can directly retrieve real-time data, display K-line charts, and set price alerts, saving the hassle of switching between multiple tools.
✅Asset management users: Users holding multiple assets and interested in financial returns. Gate AI can directly check balances, recommend financial products, and execute transfers, greatly shortening the path from "idea" to "action."
✅Crypto market researchers: Users who need to track narratives, analyze projects, and synthesize news sentiment. Gate AI integrates multiple sources such as news retrieval, X platform sentiment, and on-chain data, enabling quick comprehensive analysis reports.
5. Competitor Analysis
I asked Gate AI to compare itself with Doubao and Wenxin Yiyan, see the detailed differences in Figure 2 below. The core difference can be summarized in one sentence: Wenxin Yiyan and Doubao are broad-spectrum general AI, while Gate AI is a deep-focused vertical AI. Using Gate AI to write marketing copy or create PPTs is less convenient than Doubao; but for analyzing BRC-20 sector rotations and placing orders directly, Doubao cannot do that. They are not direct substitutes; the key competition lies in their respective scene-specific expertise and execution capabilities.
6. Suggestions for Improvement
1. Enhance multi-turn reasoning coherence. In multi-step complex questions, there are occasional "gaps" between rounds, requiring users to re-supply context. Improving the coherence of long conversations is key to approaching the experience of a "personal trading advisor."
2. Features like AI drawing could be placed in the homepage's "Universal Assistant" section, as this is a frequently used scenario.
3. After entering the full-screen AI chat page, there is no button to return to the homepage, which is not very user-friendly.
7. Summary and Outlook
As an entry-level product in the GateAI product matrix, Gate AI’s low usage barrier is a major feature. It aims to help ordinary crypto traders complete the full cycle of "information acquisition — analysis and judgment — trading execution" through a single AI assistant or a social app linked to it. At the same time, its functions in emotional companionship and encyclopedic knowledge are beginning to show. In the future, it may compete with general AI like Doubao, but today’s Gate AI feels more like a version 1.0 foundational product with unlimited potential. When it iterates into a final version, it could become a new star in the AI world.
