The life of the post-80s is not nonsense; it's being painfully exploited.
The post-80s generation,
their biggest tragedy isn't poverty,
it's being systematically deceived.
From childhood, three poisonous phrases were drilled into us:
• Endurance is a blessing
• Stability is the most important
• As long as you work hard, you'll be rewarded
You truly believed it,
and you really did as told.
But what was the result?
You handed your youth over to school,
school handed you over to society;
society handed you over to the company;
after using you up, the company tells you:
“There are too many young people.”
When housing prices rise, you have no money;
when opportunities explode, you lack courage;
by the time you finally have some money and a bit of brains,
age sentences you to death.
What’s even more disgusting:
you can't afford to lose.
If you're a 90s kid,
you can still blame your family of origin;
if you're a 00s kid,
you can just give up;
if you're an 80s kid, you don't even have the right to complain.
If you stop,
your parents will be cut off;
if you lie down,
your children are doomed;
if you gamble,
your whole family will be buried with you.
So you can only
be drained dry while pretending to be decent.
During the day, suit, work badge, responsibility;
at night, insomnia, anxiety, helplessness.
Your body starts warning you,
your bank account begins to leak,
but the world keeps telling you:
“Middle-aged people need to mature a bit.”
Mature my ass.
To tell the cruelest truth:
The post-80s are designed
not to be able to turn things around, nor to get out.
You're not the protagonist,
you're just consumables.
Not a dividend recipient,
but a stable cost.
Your generation,
has endured all the hardships,
carried all the blame,
and the benefits that should be yours
are not for you.
The greatest pain of the post-80s isn't failure,
it's that after fighting till you bleed,
you can only barely hold on to a “normal life.”
That’s the real pain.
