Who will become the next breakout in the Web3 market in 2026?

This is a question worth serious consideration. Currently, competition is mainly focused on two directions:

**Consumer Public Chains**: Projects targeting large-scale daily applications—trading, social, payments—aim to attract consumers by optimizing chain performance and user experience. The advantage of this path is the high market ceiling; once successful, it could mobilize a real user base.

**Perpetual Contract DEXs**: The other focuses on derivatives trading, building decentralized trading infrastructure. This direction has clear market demand, active trader communities, and straightforward revenue models.

Honestly, both have opportunities to break through. Consumer chains need to solve cold start and user retention challenges; DEXs need to continuously improve liquidity depth and trading experience. Which one will ultimately capture the market? The key still depends on team execution and capital support.

On-chain data shows that the contract deployment activity on the consumption chain has declined over the past two weeks, while the perpetual DEX has been deploying frequently late at night... The interesting part is, who says the team’s execution ability will ultimately win? Often, it’s the ones who survive the fiercest capital battles.

What can't be achieved by the consumption chain is still the world of transaction income...

Cold start... Basically, it's about who can capture that wave of real users first; everything else is just superficial.

Basically, it still depends on who can truly retain users; having technology alone is useless.

I don't quite understand the cold start approach for the consumption chain, but I have accumulated some chips in the perpetual DEX sector. Liquidity depth is the lifeline. Has the contract been audited?

honestly, the consumer chain narrative always sounds cleaner until you audit the actual retention metrics... then reality sets in, ngl
