Happy New Year everyone. Over the past two months, I have been preparing for the Zen Seven, and I also traveled to various places to do practice sessions. Finally, in December, I was able to complete about 10 days of closed retreat with the right conditions. Here's a personal note to share. Because I had already done some preparatory practices beforehand—such as repentance and practicing legs—this Zen Seven went smoothly and quickly. I experienced little drowsiness and distraction, and my legs didn't hurt. However, I encountered a more subtle and difficult-to-detect unconditioned state—a kind of mental state without delusions or dullness, yet like dead ashes of a withered tree, a false assumption.
