South Korea's top two cryptocurrency exchanges have discovered an interesting phenomenon: among their over 2.6 million accounts, approximately 29.1 billion RMB worth of "dormant funds" are frozen. These funds sit idle in accounts, with some accounts unused for over 10 years.

Recently, the exchanges launched a special initiative to identify these long-unused accounts. They focused on users who have not logged in or traded for more than a year. The statistical results are indeed startling—the largest single dormant position reached 2.84 million RMB.

This reflects a phenomenon: although the cryptocurrency market is highly active, there are indeed some users who have "disappeared," and their assets have become dormant. For exchanges, how to handle these unclaimed assets, ensuring compliance while protecting user rights, is indeed a challenge.

29.1 billion in dormant funds? Man, this number doesn't add up. With over 2.6 million accounts, the average is just over 10,000, and the largest single account is 2.84 million... How skewed is this distribution? You need to look at on-chain wallet addresses to find out.
