Techub News: Ryan Goldberg from Georgia and Kevin Martin from Texas pleaded guilty in the Southern District of Florida federal court, admitting to conspiring in 2023 with others to use ALPHV BlackCat ransomware to attack multiple victims in the United States and sharing the proceeds with ransomware developers. In one attack, they successfully extorted approximately $1.2 million, paid in Bitcoin. The two could face up to 20 years in prison. The court is scheduled to pronounce sentence on March 12, 2026, with the final sentence subject to the court's judgment.
