A new player in AI agent payment blockchain has arrived. Kite is building the world's first payment platform tailored for autonomous AI agents. It is an EVM-compatible Layer 1 chain based on Avalanche subnet architecture, with a core consensus mechanism using Proof of AI (PoAI). In simple terms, it enables AI to trade and coordinate with each other in real-time, with settlement completed through stablecoins — a key infrastructure in the agent economy era.
There are several technical highlights. First is the Agent Passport three-layer identity system, which separates users, agents, and sessions, allowing each AI agent to have a verifiable encrypted identity, programmable governance permissions, and fine-grained access control. Security and autonomy are both guaranteed.
The token KITE was launched on major exchanges in November this year, with value released in phases. Initially, it is mainly used for ecosystem participation, liquidity incentives, and developer rewards. Later, functions such as staking, governance voting, and AI service commissions will be gradually added. In terms of funding, institutions like PayPal Ventures and Coinbase Ventures have invested over $33 million. The mainnet is imminent, promising to push the infrastructure development of the agent economy forward.
