Artificial Intelligence Forged Investment Video Scam Reemerges, an Investor in a Certain Area Induced to Invest 2.5 Million Yuan

A recently exposed case has drawn attention: an investor was deceived by a fake investment guidance video generated by AI, ultimately losing 2.5 million yuan.

The scammer's tactic is as follows— they use AI technology to clone the images of well-known figures, creating realistic investment recommendation videos claiming to have insider information or high-yield opportunities. Seeing a "familiar face" endorsing, the victim's trust skyrockets, and they obediently transfer the funds.

These cases reveal several issues: first, AI face-swapping technology is becoming increasingly accessible; second, investment psychology is easily exploited; third, platform regulation needs to keep pace. For any investor, this is a painful lesson—no matter how authoritative the voice or how realistic the video, always think twice before transferring funds. Verify channels, consult professionals, and be wary of high-yield promises—these basic defenses should never be overlooked.
