If you had bought silver in Jan 1980 for about $28 per troy ounce, and held until now when Dec 2025 is ending at about $72 per troy ounce, you would have made an annual return of about 2.6%. Yes, only 2.6%.

I realise that I am selectively choosing a time period to drive home a point.

Yet, those who are looking only at the last few months, are also selectively choosing a time period to arrive at their chosen conclusion.
