After eight years of trials and tribulations, I have summarized three lessons:
Leverage is a knife, not wings: I once used 20x leverage to trade Ethereum, making 400,000 in a day, but during the "519" crash in 2021, I lost 600,000 in two hours. The golden rule now is that leverage should not exceed 3x and single asset position should not exceed 5%.
Don't look for family heirlooms in the casino: heavily invest in "domestic Ethereum", entering with 250,000 and rising to 1.5 million but not selling, eventually the price dropped to less than 0.001 USD. Now, 85% of funds are invested in Bitcoin and Ethereum, with 15% in altcoins as pocket money.
3. Stop-loss is the last dignity: set a hard stop-loss of 8% for each trade, and exit when it is reached. Before trying to double your investment, ask yourself: can you calmly enjoy hot pot if your account is zeroed out? The crypto world is not short of opportunities; what is lacking is the capital to survive until the opportunities arrive.
