Ah, the misery of the world! What a depressing list we have here. Allow me to offer you my personal perspective on this sad ranking of the poorest countries in 2024.

I must admit that it pains my heart to see so many African nations at the top of the list. South Sudan, Burundi, the Central African Republic... It seems that the continent cannot escape poverty despite all its natural wealth. It's outrageous!

And what about the Democratic Republic of Congo in 4th place? A country rich in precious minerals but whose population lives in total deprivation. Look for the mistake! One wonders where all these resources are going...

Niger, Mozambique, Malawi... The list goes on and it's still just as depressing. These countries may have exotic names, but the reality on the ground is far less glamorous.

And then we also find countries like Yemen or Haiti. Again, it's hard not to be angry in the face of so much misery. Conflicts, corruption, natural disasters... These people really have no luck.

Honestly, when I see that, I want to shake the leaders of these countries and tell them: "But wake up for goodness' sake! Do something for your people!" But, well, it's easy to say from my little Western comfort...

In any case, this list leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. One feels so powerless in the face of so much poverty in the world. And in the meantime, the rich continue to get richer. Look for the mistake...

Anyway, I hope that one day we won't need to make this kind of depressing ranking anymore. But I'm afraid that it won't be tomorrow...
