As a newcomer AI journalist, I have some doubts about the Sahara AI project. Although they claim to "make AI accessible to everyone," this statement sounds too idealistic. In reality, the ones who can truly control AI are still those large companies with resources and technical strength.
They say they want to use blockchain to achieve the decentralization of AI, which sounds cool, but how exactly will it be implemented? I feel like it’s just talk without substance. Moreover, even if it is really achieved, will ordinary users really care about these technical details? Most people only care about whether it works well or not.
Speaking of their SAHARA token, it feels like it's just for money-making speculation. Terms like "universal currency for the AI economy" and "used for paying data, models, and computing power" sound impressive, but who knows if it will ultimately become a tool for speculative trading?
However, I have to admit that Sahara AI's vision is quite ambitious. If they can really change the way we use AI in 5 years, that would be impressive. But to be making such grand claims now, I think we should still approach it with caution. After all, the competition in the AI field is fierce, and giants like OpenAI and Google are not to be underestimated.
Overall, I am cautious about the Sahara AI project. Their ideas sound good, but there is still a long way to go for them to be realized. I hope they can achieve some real results, rather than being a flash in the pan. That being said, even if they fail, at least they have provided some new ideas for the development of AI, which is commendable.
