A 25-year-old man from Florida, identified as Remy Ra St. Felix, has been sentenced to 47 years in prison for orchestrating a series of cryptocurrency-related home invasions across multiple states. The court also mandated five years of supervised release and ordered St. Felix to pay $524,153.39 in restitution.

Multi-State Robbery Conviction

On Wednesday, the federal court handed down the hefty sentence to St. Felix for his pivotal role in a cryptocurrency home invasion scheme. The sentencing of 11 co-conspirators took place between September 5 and September 12, marking the culmination of a complex criminal case.

St. Felix and his accomplices were found guilty of amassing over $3.5 million through illicit means. The U.S. Department of Justice detailed a string of sim swap attacks and home invasions, some of which escalated to violent confrontations.

Pattern of Aggressive Attacks

The criminal group's modus operandi included several high-profile incidents. In September 2022, they targeted a family in Delray Beach, Florida, holding them at gunpoint and abducting the male homeowner, who was later abandoned 120 miles from his residence.

Another attack in December 2022 saw the gang invade a home in Little Elm, Texas, where they held a family at gunpoint for more than three hours. In April 2023, the group struck in Durham, North Carolina, restraining a couple with cable ties and assaulting them before absconding with cryptocurrency valued at over $150,000. This incident was preceded by email account hacks and days of surveillance.

St. Felix's criminal streak came to an end in July 2023 during an attempted home invasion in Long Island, New York, where he was apprehended. Following a six-day trial, a federal district court in Greensboro, North Carolina, convicted St. Felix on June 25.

The legal proceedings also saw sentences handed down to St. Felix's associates:
