Hey, do you all want to know what those mysterious English abbreviations on the trading platform actually mean? I just crawled around in the Blockchain Community for a while and finally figured out these digital units!
To be honest, when I first entered the community, I was also confused by these things. Every time I saw the letters K, M, B, I just wanted to close the page directly. But don’t worry, I’m here to explain it to you:
On those big platforms (let's not mention names to avoid being accused of advertising), these abbreviations are actually quite understandable:
1K = 1000 (one thousand)
1M = 1 million
1E = 100 million (this E is particularly rare, it seems to be created by certain platforms)
1B = 1 billion
1T = trillion (Do you want to know how many people have seen an asset of this number? I bet not many.)
To be honest, why can't we just write out the full numbers? Is it because writing it all out seems too scary? Or are they afraid that small retail investors will get envious? Every time I see a project with a market cap of "1T", I feel like the capitalists are playing a game that ordinary people can't understand.
I once saw a transaction volume of 1.5B on the platform, and I was completely stunned. Who is throwing away so much money? It definitely isn't ordinary people like us who are still calculating whether to order an extra egg for lunch.
Recently, with such large market fluctuations, understanding these units is quite important. Sometimes, a small decimal difference is the distance between heaven and hell!
By the way, has anyone asked what 1P is? To be honest, I haven't seen this abbreviation on a formal platform, maybe it's 1 quadrillion? Just thinking about it is scary...
