FINALLY THE SOLANA PHONE HAS ARRIVED! IS IT GOOD? IS IT WORTH IT?

Yesterday I received my Solana Seeker and I must confess - this toy is no joke! As a crypto enthusiast who is tired of using “normal” phones to manage my wallets, this device is a breath of fresh air in the world of smartphones.

The Seeker is the second mobile phone from Solana Mobile and, unlike the first model that cost a thousand dollars, this one comes at a more affordable price (450-500€) but without compromising integration with blockchain. They managed to secure 150,000 pre-orders even before they started shipping - impressive for a project that many considered just a marketing gimmick!

What makes this mobile phone special?

Unlike common iPhones and Androids that treat us as products rather than users, the Seeker was created with those who actually use crypto in mind. The hardware has a system called Seed Vault that keeps the private keys in an ultra-secure environment - it's not just another wallet app, it's part of the phone itself!

And the airdrops? My God! The owners of the first model (Saga) received BONK tokens that ended up being worth more than the phone itself! Those who pre-ordered the Seeker have already received MEW and MANEKI tokens that covered more than half of the cost. Basically, the phone is paying for itself.

The app store is a revolution

I was impressed with the dApp store 2.0. Who isn't fed up with traditional stores with their absurd 30% fees? Here there are no fees! Developers earn more and so do we - many apps even give rewards for using them instead of charging.

The camera quality of (108MP+32MP) is surprisingly good for a mobile phone focused on Web3. Of course, it's not an iPhone 15 Pro, but it gets the job done perfectly.

But not everything is rosy…

I have to be honest - the app ecosystem is still limited. If you rely heavily on certain “normal” productivity or social media apps, you will feel the lack. Some features still seem to be in beta phase and there are occasional small bugs.

And let's be realistic - if the crypto market crashes, part of the value of this phone will also drop. Its true value is closely tied to the success of the Solana blockchain.

So, is it worth it?

If you trade crypto regularly, collect NFTs, or are a Web3 developer, it is an absolute YES. The Seeker is paradise for those living in the crypto world.

For ordinary users who are curious about Web3? Perhaps waiting for the next generation is wiser, although airdrops may compensate for the investment even for beginners.

This mobile phone represents the future of mobile integration with blockchain - finally someone has taken advantage of the advanced cryptographic hardware that has existed in smartphones for over a decade but that no one was using!

Anatoly Yakovenko and the Solana team saw what giants like Apple and Google failed to see - there is a huge market for devices that give control back to users. And apparently, that market is growing rapidly!

Just don't come asking me where to buy, because with 140,000 pre-orders, it's going to be hard to get your hands on one anytime soon!
