The final value of the University of Michigan's Consumer Confidence Index for September in the U.S. recorded 55.1, down from 58.2, a year-on-year decrease of 21.6%, remaining above the lows of April and May this year. The report shows that about 44% of respondents mentioned that high prices are eroding personal finances, reaching a new high in the past year; the one-year inflation expectation slightly decreased to 4.7%, while the long-term inflation expectation rose for the second consecutive month to 3.7%.
