Recently, there has been a significant development in the express delivery industry in Shanghai. Starting from midnight on September 22, five major courier companies in the Shanghai area—Shentong, Yuantong, Zhongtong, Yunda, and Jitu—will uniformly adjust their collection prices. This move is seen as a concrete measure to implement the national "anti-involution" competition policy, aimed at maintaining market order and ensuring long-term stable service quality.

It is worth noting that this trend is not unique to Shanghai. Previously, regions such as Guangdong and Zhejiang had already taken the lead in raising the price of express delivery per ticket, and subsequently, many provinces across the country have followed suit. This round of price adjustment mainly targets low-priced e-commerce packages, and its impact on individuals' daily shipping is expected to be relatively small.

Industry insiders believe that this price adjustment reflects the express delivery industry is seeking a healthier and more sustainable development model. By moderately increasing prices, companies are expected to improve service quality and optimize delivery efficiency, thereby maintaining long-term competitiveness in the fierce market competition.

However, this initiative has also raised some concerns. Consumers and small e-commerce businesses may face increased cost pressures as a result. Experts suggest that while adjusting prices, courier companies should also focus on improving service levels and providing more value-added services to mitigate the impact of price increases.

Overall, the recent adjustment in express delivery prices marks the industry's shift towards a more standardized and orderly direction. In the future, finding a balance between ensuring service quality and protecting consumer interests will be an important issue facing the express delivery industry.
