According to an industry survey, among 107 economists interviewed from September 8 to 11, as many as 105 respondents expect the Fed to lower the benchmark interest rate by 25 basis points to 4.00%-4.25%. The CME FedWatch Tool shows that traders are betting on a 92.7% probability of a 25 basis point rate cut in September, and a 7.3% probability of a 50 basis point cut.
