Worldcoin launches a blockchain space on the World Chain network

On June 26, the World project (formerly Worldcoin) launched a new infrastructure called Priority Blockspace for Humans (PBH) in its World Chain network. This update aims to improve blockchain access for users who have undergone identity verification.

World Chain is a Layer-2 blockchain built on the OP Stack and secured by the Ethereum network. It is designed for scaling within the Superchain ecosystem and integrated with the Worldcoin protocol. The network is aimed at global users who can access applications through compatible wallets, such as World App.

PBH is a new infrastructure component that prioritizes transactions from users who pass verification through Orb and confirm their identity using World ID. During network congestion, PBH reserves a portion of each block specifically for these users. This allows transactions to be processed without delays, regardless of gas fee size or competition for inclusion in the block.

The system ensures access to core services such as identity verification, mini-applications, and obtaining grants without additional costs. PBH is automatically activated under increased load.

The functionality of PBH was tested within the test network with the involvement of researchers and teams from Flashbots and Alchemy. The system has open-source code and is integrated into the World Chain Block Builder and Rollup Boost — a module for chains on the OP Stack that allows for setting a custom order of transactions. Both PBH and Rollup Boost underwent an independent audit by Nethermind.
