"USDC reward type" gamification for regional revitalization - Mizuho subsidiary Blue Lab, DEA, SBI VC Trade collaboration

Mizuho's subsidiary Blue Lab, Digital Entertainment Asset (DEA) which develops the electric pole photography game "PicTrée", and the cryptocurrency exchange SBI VC Trade announced on May 26 that they will start a joint demonstration experiment for the Web3 gamification project "GLOCAL AGENTS – Local Secret Society" aimed at sustainable regional revitalization.

The experiment will be conducted in three regions: Hakodate City in Hokkaido, Niigata City in Niigata Prefecture, and Numazu City in Shizuoka Prefecture, from June to the end of July 2025.

In this project, users can earn points by completing missions from local businesses and municipalities. The payment of rewards is made using USDC, a USD-pegged stablecoin, which is characterized by its potential to validate a new regional economic circulation model utilizing digital currencies.

The team battles between the "secret society" communities formed in each region promote interregional exchange and revitalization through the game.

This demonstration experiment is jointly promoted by Blue Lab, funded by Mizuho Financial Group, and DEA, with SBI VC Trade participating as a demonstration partner for Web3 technologies such as the sending and receiving of USDC and cross-border payments.

The three companies aim to create a "relationship population" that is interested in the region by merging the entertainment aspects of gaming with Web3 technology, with the goal of building a sustainable revitalization model for the local economy.
