NBCUniversal and Aptos Labs have launched the fan engagement rewards platform Backlot Club.

According to Mars Finance, on October 15, NBCUniversal and Aptos Labs announced the joint launch of a new fan interaction rewards platform called Backlot Club, marking a further deepening of their strategic cooperation. The Backlot platform is built on Aptos's Layer 1 Blockchain technology and aims to connect Universal Pictures' global fans through digital rewards collected from online and offline activities. The Backlot platform appears to have completed pilot operations during Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Nights in 2025, successfully supporting the “on-chain treasure hunt” activity. Users can earn both physical and virtual rewards by collecting digital badges, with all assets anchored to Aptos on-chain assets. This is not the first collaboration between Aptos and NBCUniversal. Under a multi-year agreement, the two companies have previously launched Web3 fan interaction projects around films such as “Renfield” and “The Exorcist: Believer,” jointly expanding blockchain-based games, membership programs, and IP experiences.
