The Illusion of 1 Billion in Trading Volume? A Test of Coinbase Stock Tokens’ Real Ability to Absorb Sell-Offs When U.S. Stock Markets Are Closed
This article assesses the liquidity and risks of the Coinbase stock token on Base. The $100k quote is only a momentary estimate and cannot represent the market’s capacity to absorb large sell-offs; pool balances alone are insufficient to directly indicate capacity. Genius co-founder: Points are an additional benefit and will be adjusted according to actual circumstances. Our own tokens will not unlock before users'.
Genius’s adjustment to its points rules has sparked dissatisfaction. Co-founder Ryan Myher said that points are merely an additional benefit of trading crypto assets, and users agreed to the airdrop terms when using the platform; users from SZN1 onward effectively agreed twice. Those who do not accept the terms cannot use the platform. The adjustment was made because daily trading volume declined, resulting in fewer points being distributed. He pledged to operate the project for the long term and said his own tokens would not be unlocked first. It was previously reported that the unlocking of 70 million tokens would be postponed until 2028.
