Cloudflare teams up with Stripe to launch an Agent self-managed protocol: AI can create accounts, buy domains, and deploy applications

Cloudflare and Stripe jointly launched a new protocol on April 30, enabling AI agents to create Cloudflare accounts, subscribe to paid plans, register domains, obtain API tokens, and directly deploy applications without any human involvement. Cloudflare’s official blog said the entire process from start to finish does not require humans to enter the back office, copy and paste tokens, or input credit card details; users only need to grant permission and accept Cloudflare’s terms of use. This week, the announcement scored 548 points on Hacker News, becoming one of the standout infrastructure news pieces for AI agents autonomously executing tasks. Anthropic partners with SpaceX for computing power: secures the entire Colossus 1 facility—220k GPUs—and Claude lifts its usage limits

Anthropic announced a computing power cooperation with SpaceX for the Colossus 1 data center, to deploy more than 220k Nvidia GPUs and over 300MW of capacity. The full rollout is expected within one month for use by Anthropic, improving the compute power and experience of Claude and Code. At the same time, it will loosen the per 5-hour usage limits for Pro/Max/Team/Enterprise, remove peak-hour limits, and increase the Opus API throughput. Infrastructure expansion is also underway across Asia and Europe; in the future, there are also intentions such as “orbital AI computing,” but no deal has been finalized yet.

OpenAI Unveils the MRC Supercomputer Network Protocol! Teaming Up with NVIDIA, AMD, and Microsoft to Build the Stargate Infrastructure

OpenAI has unveiled the AI supercomputer network protocol MRC, working with AMD, Microsoft, NVIDIA, and others, and open-sourcing it via OCP. MRC splits data and routes it along multiple paths at once, avoids obstacles at the microsecond level, reduces congestion, and maintains GPU synchronization to solve data-transfer bottlenecks in large training clusters. Facilities including Stargate in Texas’s Abilene have already deployed 800Gb/s interfaces and put them into real training.

Hut 8 signs a $9.8 billion AI data center deal for a 15-year lease; the stock surges 36% pre-market

Hut 8 announced that Texas’s Beacon Point has leased the initial phase of its 1GW AI data center for 352MW, with a 15-year term and a base lease value of $9.8 billion, including 3% annual increases and three optional five-year renewals. If all options are exercised, the contract value could reach about $25.1 billion. The tenant is a high-investment-grade customer; the name has not been disclosed yet. The deal shows Hut 8’s transition from a miner to an AI infrastructure provider. Beacon Point uses the NVIDIA DSX architecture, starts with 352MW, is expected to be energized in Q1 2027, and will deliver the initial hall in Q3, with the campus having capacity to expand to 1GW.

ChatGPT launches Excel and Google Sheets: GPT-5.5 logs in directly to spreadsheets, with a three-way showdown between Copilot and Gemini

OpenAI has launched ChatGPT for Excel and ChatGPT for Google Sheets plugins, powered by GPT-5.5, with the core focus on explaining as it works. The features cover analysis, automatically writing formulas, updating spreadsheets, and step-by-step explanations of the reasoning process, enabling users to handle and understand tasks directly within their spreadsheets. It expands the three-way competition with Copilot and Gemini, signaling a new landscape for enterprise productivity AI. Taiwan users need to install via AppSource/Workspace Marketplace, and should also consider data privacy and whether ChatGPT Plus is required.
