Sh Suhyup Bank to Acquire Sangsangin Securities for Around 200 Billion Won by Year-End

According to Yonhapnews, Sh Suhyup Bank announced plans to acquire Sangsangin Securities for approximately 200 billion Korean won. The bank signed a memorandum of understanding with Sangsangin Group last month and secured exclusive negotiation rights through the third quarter. The transaction is expected to close by year-end pending due diligence and regulatory approvals from South Korea's Financial Services Commission and Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. Sangsangin Securities reported net profit of around 10 billion won in the first half of 2026 and returned to profitability after posting a 9 billion won loss in 2025, down from a 50 billion won loss in 2024. The acquisition expands Sh Suhyup's non-banking business portfolio following its purchase of Trinity Asset Management last year.
