South Korea Expands SCB Pilot Program to 16 Banks, 2.2 Trillion Won on July 27

According to the Financial Services Commission, South Korea expanded its pilot program for the Small-business & Self-ownership Credit Bureau (SCB) on July 27, increasing participating banks from 7 to 16 and raising the lending scale from 1.8 trillion won to 2.2 trillion won.

Starting from end-August, major banks including KB Kookmin, Shinhan, Woori, NH Nonghyup, Hana, and Jeju Bank will sequentially launch loan products applying SCB criteria. Digital banks such as K Bank, Kakao Bank, and Toss Bank are expected to join during the second half of 2026.
