USDC Now Accounts for 70% of Stablecoin Volume as USDT Falls to 25%

According to on-chain data compiled by Visa, Circle's USDC accounted for approximately 70% of adjusted stablecoin transaction volume during the first half of 2026, while Tether's USDT represented about 25%, marking a significant shift in the stablecoin competitive landscape.

Visa's adjusted stablecoin transaction volume reached a record $1.79 trillion in June 2026, up 63% from May and 125% higher than June 2025. The metrics exclude exchange transfers and bot activity, reflecting genuine economic stablecoin usage rather than speculative trading.
