Circle will launch the public mainnet of its Arc blockchain on September 16 with 11 validators drawn from traditional finance, the company announced alongside second-quarter results on Wednesday. The validator cohort includes Visa, Mastercard, BlackRock, DTCC, Galaxy, Global Payments, ICE, MoneyGram, SBI Group, Standard Chartered and Sumitomo Corporation.
The company reported total revenue and reserve income of $701 million for Q2, up 7% year-over-year, with net income of $48 million versus a $482 million loss a year earlier. Last month, Circle received final approval from the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency to establish Circle National Trust, making it one of the first stablecoin issuers to hold a federal bank charter.
