Ripple has secured a Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) license from Luxembourg's financial regulator, the CSSF, according to the company. Combined with its existing Electronic Money Institution license, the authorization enables Ripple to offer regulated crypto payment services across all 30 countries in the European Economic Area under a single compliance framework, eliminating the need for separate national regulatory approvals.
According to Ripple's 2026 Global Digital Asset Survey, nearly 72% of European fintech firms believe digital assets will become essential to competitiveness, while 44% of European fintechs expect stablecoins to become the default method for cross-border payments within five years. The move directly addresses regulatory uncertainty that has slowed adoption; nearly 40% of European fintechs cited regulatory barriers as a key challenge.
