Peskov: Russia still hopes to resolve the Ukraine conflict through political and diplomatic means.

Jin10 Data reported on August 27, local time, that Russian President's press secretary Peskov stated that Russia still hopes to resolve the Ukraine conflict through political and diplomatic means. There is currently no specific date for the next meeting of the Russian and Ukrainian negotiation teams, but the heads of both teams are in contact. Peskov mentioned during a telephone press briefing that security guarantees are the most important issue in resolving the Ukraine problem, but public dialogue on this issue is not conducive to the overall resolution effectiveness. Russia insists on resolving the conflict through political and diplomatic means, and for this, Ukraine needs to respond accordingly. High-level or the highest-level contacts between Russia and Ukraine must be well-prepared to achieve results. Peskov also stated that Russia has a negative attitude towards the deployment of European "peacekeeping forces" in Ukraine. He pointed out that the expansion of NATO military infrastructure is one of the root causes of the Ukraine crisis.
