New developments in digital asset regulation will be deeply discussed at the Vietnam Blockchain Week

The Vietnamese government has recently made significant progress in the regulation of digital assets, demonstrating a clear determination to establish a legal framework for the industry and support its development.

• In October 2024, the government issued the “National Blockchain Technology Development Strategy,” which is planned to be implemented in 2025, aiming to strengthen the country’s infrastructure and promote Vietnam as a leader in regional Blockchain technology applications.
• Starting from the end of 2024, the Congress will begin reviewing the “Digital Technology Industry Law,” which clarifies the legal definition of digital assets and proposes to pilot digital asset trading platforms in major financial centers such as Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang.
