$100k a month to see the president's posts a few milliseconds before the rest of the world—isn't this insider trading, if not?
At 2 a.m., Trump posted on Truth Social: “Decided to impose 25% tariffs on a certain country.”
0.3 seconds later, a high-frequency trading firm's server captured the information and automatically executed orders to short related stocks.
Three seconds later, your phone notification finally sounded.
By the time you opened it, the market had already finished moving.
The difference was completely pocketed by the company that paid for access.
You aren't slow to react. You simply aren't on the same starting line.
This isn't science fiction. This is a business officially launching on August 1, 2026.
It's called “Truth API.”
A paid data service launched by Trump Media & Technology Group, specifically targeting Wall Street high-frequency trading firms.
The monthly fee is $100k. Signing a three-year contract brings it down to $60k.
What are they buying?
Access to see Trump's posts “a few milliseconds” before the rest of the world.
The service covers the 10 most influential accounts on the platform, including Trump himself.
More than 10 high-frequency trading firms have already signed up.
According to the acting CEO, the first batch of clients alone is expected to generate $7 million to $12 million in recurring annual revenue.
Some people will say: “Isn't it just selling an API? Bloomberg and Reuters sell data too, don't they?”
The difference is huge.
Bloomberg sells market data. Reuters sells news aggregation.
Trump is selling—the policy information he himself releases as president that can directly affect global markets.
In other words: he is putting “the mouth of the U.S. president” up for sale at a clearly marked price.
The plaintiffs, The Intercept and the Freedom of the Press Foundation, stated plainly in their complaint that the service is “extraordinary, corrupt, and unconstitutional.”
The lawsuit invokes the First Amendment (the right to equal access to government information) and the Fifth Amendment (prohibiting unreasonable conditions on access to public benefits).
This isn't a theoretical risk. It has already happened.
In March this year, 15 minutes before Trump posted a key message about “delaying the attack on Iran,” an enormous anomalous transaction worth $580 million suddenly appeared in the crude oil futures market, precisely shorting oil prices.
After the post was published, oil prices plunged 25%.
Traders who positioned themselves in advance made huge profits instantly.
On another occasion, before Trump signaled an easing of war tensions, multiple large bets appeared in the market, involving more than $3.5 billion in total.
Again and again, there was precise “front-running.”
In the past, this kind of operation could only rely on “inside information” and “personal connections.”
But now?
The Trump team has turned it directly into a standardized product and put it up for public sale.
For the crypto market, this is even more alarming.
Trump frequently posts market-moving policy statements on Truth Social, covering everything from tariffs to war to monetary policy. Truth API's paying clients can process the post content and execute trading instructions within milliseconds.
Bitcoin, Ethereum—all crypto assets—are within range of this information gap.
Data from research firm Fundstrat shows that, during the current administration's term, the five best and five worst trading days for the S&P 500 were all driven primarily by factors directly linked to Trump's social media posts.
On April 9, 2025, one post from Trump saying “pausing additional tariff increases” sent the S&P 500 soaring 9% in a single day.
One post, 9% volatility.
How much did those who saw the post a few milliseconds early make?
It's hard to imagine.
Even more telling is the financial condition of Trump Media & Technology Group.
Since its founding in 2021, the company has never achieved quarterly profitability, with cumulative losses exceeding $1 billion.
Last quarter, revenue was only $1.7 million, while net losses reached as much as $238 million.
Its share price has already fallen more than 35% this year.
Trump holds a 41% stake in the company through a trust.
The company loses money, and the president's equity is shrinking.
Then it launched Truth API—$100k a month to sell the president's posts to Wall Street.
Subscription revenue flows directly into this publicly traded company majority-owned by Trump.
Think about that. Think carefully.
Former White House Chief Ethics Counsel Richard Painter put it this way:
“If I were an SEC commissioner, I would threaten to resign unless they halted this plan.”
Democratic Senators Elizabeth Warren and Adam Schiff have already written to the SEC, requesting an investigation into whether the service “undermines the fairness of financial markets.”
The SEC confirmed receipt of the letter but declined to disclose whether it had opened an investigation.
So here's the question—
Do you think paying to receive the president's posts early is a normal business model, or disguised insider trading?
Some people say: It's perfectly normal for technology platforms to sell access to data.
But the problem is—these posts aren't ordinary content; they are the president's official policy statements.
When a president's policy statements are no longer public signals addressed to everyone, but financial chips that can be unlocked early for a fee—
the bottom line of fairness in capital markets is being torn open.
Ordinary investors are looking at the same phone screen.
Wall Street firms pay $100k a month and harvest the price difference at millisecond speed.
This isn't an information gap.
This is information privilege.
