On Friday, November 6, Eastern Time, the first approximately $11 billion of @OpenAI’s new funding round has come in, at a pre-money valuation of $1.25 trillion. Coatue, T. Rowe Price, SoftBank, and MGX participated in the initial closing. The round is expected to be completed over the next few weeks, reaching up to $20 billion.
That is a steep cut from the original plan: the target reported in late September was to raise more than $30 billion at a $1.4 trillion valuation, and some investors said OpenAI initially wanted a $1.5 trillion valuation. The plan was set before AI stocks plunged this w

Are these tariffs really moving trillions of dollars into the U.S.? Navarro makes it sound like it’s actually happening, but I’ve been watching trade flows for a while, and something just doesn’t add up. Anyway, I learned my lesson with stop-losses: I set them too tight and got stopped out twice, so now I keep them way farther away. Hope I’m wrong this time—if I am, that means the market still has room to run.
