Former FTX CEO SBF is challenging the criminal charges against him following his extradition from the Bahamas, The Block reports. Currently, the U.S. Department of Justice is seeking a special exemption from the Bahamas to allow some of the cases to proceed. It is reported that since SBF was extradited in December last year, prosecutors have filed several replacement indictments against him containing new charges. SBF has pleaded not guilty to criminal charges, including bank fraud, and awaits trial in October. SBF believes the U.S. government has "improperly" added "several new, unrelated allegations without the express prior consent of the Bahamian government." The SBF has moved to dismiss 10 of the 13 criminal charges against him. The Justice Department said it would drop some of the criminal charges brought against SBF if the Bahamian government objects. Judges are scheduled to hear arguments on the issue on June 15.
