According to a recent report by MV Global, decentralized science (DeSci) is expected to achieve significant growth by 2025, driven by the practical use of memecoins.

DeSci involves integrating blockchain technology into scientific research. Its goal is to completely transform the traditional scientific ecosystem by improving transparency, decentralization, and collaboration.

The report emphasizes that although this concept is not new, the focus and scope of these measures have changed.

Initially, most projects focused on providing research funding through decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs). Notable examples include VitaDAO, HairDAO, and AxonDAO, which still have influence in the DeSci field.

However, the field has undergone significant evolution and become more diverse.

The report focuses on various use cases of about 30 active projects, including research funding, health data management, and open research initiatives.

The report points out that this diversity reflects the growing maturity and adaptability of the DeSci ecosystem.

DeSci's goal is to establish a more inclusive and fair scientific ecosystem, enabling researchers and communities to collaborate and innovate without being restricted by central institutions.

The report pointed out a trend for 2024: the emergence of DeSci dedicated memecoin.

Although most projects have achieved limited success, two projects, Rifampicin and Urolithin A, have made significant progress, with market values of approximately 73 million US dollars and 59 million US dollars, respectively.

These tokens are launched through the Pump.Science platform, and according to MVGlobal's evaluation, their utility far exceeds traditional memecoins.

Tokens are directly related to scientific experiments, representing specific compounds or interventions tested on organisms such as worms, flies, and mice.

These tokens can serve as a funding mechanism for research, providing real-time updates on experimental progress and facilitating transactions based on research results.

These token holders can even sell the right to intervene successfully, thereby establishing a tangible connection between token ownership and scientific progress in the real world.

MV Global expects Pump.Science to achieve significant expansion by 2025, with at least 10 projects expected to have a market value of over 100 million US dollars by the end of the year.

MV Global also predicts that health data management and open-source collaborative research will see significant growth by 2025.

Projects like Hippocrat and ResearchCoin are very promising, the former enables individuals to control their own health data, and the latter aims to establish a 'GitHub for scientific research'.

It is expected that by 2025, the market valuation of these two projects will reach at least 200 million US dollars.

The report also predicts that the DeSci project will increase significantly, with at least 50 projects expected to be listed by the end of 2025. This growth reflects the positive market sentiment and increased liquidity in the industry.
