Why does one swap go through several pools?
When checking on-chain swap records, sometimes you’re only swapping one token for another, yet the route includes several pools and even intermediate tokens.
I check the route details first instead of immediately assuming I made several transactions. Some swap tools look for intermediate routes or split an order across different pools to try to get a better execution.
But a route with more hops isn’t automatically a better deal. Each additional hop may add fees, which need to be weighed against any price improvement.

How did my token balance change without a transfer?
When checking on-chain assets, if the balance has changed but I can’t find a corresponding incoming transfer, I first look at the token’s balance mechanism.
Some tokens reflect changes by recalculating balances. For example, stETH balances update as the protocol changes, reflecting related staking rewards or penalties without requiring a regular transfer to each holder.
This means that tracking balance changes solely by filtering transfer records may miss this portion. Conversely, not every balance change without a transfer should be explaine
