To further enhance the risk management experience, Gate Options will upgrade and optimize the margin display system and risk control mechanism for Classic Accounts. This upgrade aims to provide users with clearer risk indicators, more reasonable margin management methods, and a more intelligent forced liquidation mechanism.

The upgrade will officially commence on 2026-06-04.

To maximize system stability during the upgrade and avoid impacting your daily usage, this algorithm upgrade will be implemented in a "batch-by-batch, gradual coverage" manner. During the phased upgrade, some users may experience the optimizations brought by the new algorithm earlier than others. Accounts that have not been upgraded can continue to use all current version functions normally, so there is no need for concern. This upgrade will be completed automatically by the system, and no manual operation is required.

I. Margin Display System Upgrade

After the upgrade, Classic Accounts will adopt a more intuitive margin ratio display framework, mainly including:

Indicator Description
Total Margin Balance Options Account USDT balance
Total Available Balance Total Margin Balance - Total Initial Margin (IM)
Total Initial Margin Ratio (IM%) Margin Balance / Initial Margin
Total Maintenance Margin Ratio (MM%) Margin Balance / Maintenance Margin

The higher the margin ratio value, the more sufficient the account’s risk buffer.
This adjustment only involves optimization of indicator display and calculation logic, and does not affect your funds, positions, or trading behavior.

II. Automatic Order Cancellation Mechanism Optimization

When the account’s Initial Margin Ratio (IM%) is below 100%, but the Maintenance Margin Ratio (MM%) is still above 100%, the system will automatically cancel some unfilled orders to release margin occupation and restore the account’s safe status.
This process only affects unfilled orders and does not impact existing positions.

III. Forced Liquidation Mechanism Upgrade

When the account’s Maintenance Margin Ratio (MM%) is less than or equal to 100%, a forced liquidation process will be triggered.
The upgraded risk control system will adhere to:

  • Prioritizing reduction of the overall account risk exposure
  • Prioritizing handling of contracts with better liquidity
  • Prioritizing release of risk positions with higher margin occupation
  • Adopting a dynamic batch execution mechanism to reduce market impact and slippage

Compared to the original mechanism, the new system can control risk more efficiently and minimize the impact on the remaining positions in the account as much as possible.

IV. Notes

  • This upgrade will not affect your fund security or existing positions;
  • It is recommended to pay attention to your account margin level in advance and manage position risk reasonably;
  • Options trading services will operate normally during the upgrade, and no additional action is required;
  • If you have any questions, please contact online customer service or refer to the relevant instructions in the Help Center.
