Gate August Transparency Report: From a Crypto Exchange to a Multi-Asset Financial Ecosystem

Gate August Transparency Report: From a Crypto Exchange to a Multi-Asset Financial Ecosystem
August 2026 was another important month in Gate’s broader transformation. What stands out to me is that Gate is no longer positioning itself only around traditional crypto trading. The platform is steadily building a wider financial ecosystem that connects crypto, global equities, derivatives, yield products, tokenized assets, institutional services, and professional financial infrastructure.
The numbers from August make this evolution especially clear.
Gate Stocks continued expanding its TradFi footprint, with spot stock coverage exceeding 12,800 instruments. Around 300 Japanese stocks were newly added, giving users broader access to one of the world’s most important equity markets. At the same time, Gate continued expanding its CFD and ETF offerings, showing that its strategy is focused not on one asset class, but on giving users access to multiple markets from one platform.
The expansion of TradFi is becoming one of the most interesting parts of Gate’s development. CFD coverage reached 680 trading pairs, while overall TradFi coverage surpassed 1,000 assets. Stock derivatives expanded to more than 360 underlying assets, and ETF products reached 408 trading pairs with approximately $20 billion in total trading volume.
Gate also continued developing its Pre-IPO and tokenized stock ecosystem. KIMI was listed through Pre-IPOs, while gStocks continued supporting 24/7 tokenized stock trading. Together, stocks, ETFs, CFDs, Pre-IPOs, and tokenized stocks are creating a much broader financial product structure.
For me, this is one of the strongest signals from the August report: Gate is trying to make different financial markets accessible through a unified ecosystem.
The same expansion can be seen in Gate Earn.
Simple Earn added 23 new projects during August, increasing the number of opportunities available to users looking to manage idle capital. Gate also launched Idle Earn during the month, offering APR of up to 3%. This is particularly interesting because not every user wants to keep capital actively trading all the time. Having flexible ways to potentially earn on idle funds can make the platform more useful beyond active trading.
GUSD also reached a record high of $257 million, showing stronger demand for stablecoin-based financial products and flexible earning opportunities.
While product expansion is important, August also delivered major growth across Gate’s trading infrastructure.
Options trading volume increased 36.6% month-on-month. Event Contract trading volume jumped an impressive 286.09%, while Perp DEX API trading volume increased 134%. These numbers show that activity was not concentrated in just one traditional trading product. Different segments of the ecosystem were experiencing strong momentum simultaneously.
The institutional side was also notable.
Spot trading volume among institutional users increased by 21%, while assets deposited through CrossEx grew by 143%. A 143% increase in deposited assets is particularly significant because it points toward increasing institutional engagement with Gate’s infrastructure.
Another major area of growth was TradFi derivatives.
Stock perpetual trading volume increased 308% month-on-month, maintaining triple-digit growth for three consecutive months. This is a powerful indicator of growing interest in products that connect traditional financial assets with the flexibility of crypto-style perpetual markets.
Even more significant was Gate’s position in RWA perpetuals.
Gate captured a 49.6% share of RWA perpetual open interest, ranking first among global centralized exchanges. In my view, this is one of the most important statistics in the entire August report.
Real-World Assets are becoming an increasingly important bridge between traditional finance and blockchain-based markets. As tokenization continues to develop, infrastructure that can support trading, liquidity, derivatives, and access around these assets could become increasingly valuable.
Gate’s 49.6% share therefore represents more than just another market statistic. It highlights the platform’s growing presence in an emerging financial sector.
Security and reserves remained another major focus.
Gate’s total reserves reached $8.215 billion in August, while the overall reserve ratio increased to 127%. BTC and ETH maintained excess reserve ratios above 20%, providing additional protection for user asset redemption and liquidity.
The specific figures are also worth highlighting. BTC’s excess reserve ratio reached 22.79%, while ETH’s reached 22.05%. The combined stablecoin reserve ratio stood at 111.63%.
For any financial platform, product expansion needs to be supported by strong asset management and transparency. These reserve figures are therefore an important part of understanding Gate’s overall development.
Beyond trading and financial products, Gate continued investing in its content and user ecosystem.
Gate Research, Gate Learn, and Gate Blog continued publishing content covering crypto markets, global equities, artificial intelligence, asset tokenization, institutional capital, and broader financial trends.
This is becoming increasingly important because the modern financial user does not only need access to markets. Users also need information, education, research, and market context. Building a strong content ecosystem alongside trading products can help users better understand the markets they are participating in.
Gate Live also expanded its role by launching a global equities program and continuing its creator recruitment initiative. This creates another connection between financial markets and community-driven content.
For creators, traders, and market educators, the expansion into global equities creates more opportunities to discuss assets beyond crypto while still operating inside the Gate ecosystem.
Gate also continued strengthening its global brand presence through campaigns and partnerships. The limited-edition Qixi gift box campaign helped deepen engagement with VIP users and global partners.
Founder and CEO Dr. Han was also interviewed by The Economist Enterprise, where he discussed Gate’s broader strategy of evolving from a crypto trading platform toward comprehensive financial infrastructure.
This strategic direction is reflected throughout the August numbers.
According to third-party data referenced in the report, Gate continued receiving recognition across institutions including CoinDesk, CryptoQuant, CryptoRank, and DefiLlama.
Trading activity remained strong as well.
Gate recorded approximately $9.5 billion in 24-hour spot and derivatives trading volume and $12.48 billion in open interest, placing both metrics among the global Top 3. Its 30-day net inflow reached approximately $308.1 million, ranking second among major platforms.
These figures are important because they show that Gate’s growth is not only coming from product launches. The platform is also attracting meaningful trading activity, liquidity, and capital flows.
Looking across the entire August report, I see several different growth engines working together.
Crypto remains an important foundation, but Gate is increasingly building around TradFi, RWA, derivatives, institutional services, yield products, tokenized stocks, and financial content.
The expansion of more than 12,800 stock instruments, 680 CFD pairs, 408 ETF trading pairs, more than 360 stock-derivative underlying assets, and over 1,000 TradFi assets demonstrates how quickly this side of the ecosystem is developing.
At the same time, the 308% month-on-month growth in stock perpetual volume, 286.09% increase in Event Contract volume, 134% rise in Perp DEX API volume, and 143% growth in CrossEx deposits show that user and institutional activity is expanding across multiple categories.
Then there is the security foundation: $8.215 billion in reserves and a 127% overall reserve ratio.
Put all of these numbers together, and August tells a much bigger story.
Gate is building an ecosystem where crypto, traditional finance, tokenization, derivatives, earning products, institutional infrastructure, research, and community content can exist under one broader financial platform.
That transformation is still ongoing, but the August 2026 Transparency Report provides a clear picture of its direction.
For me, the biggest takeaway is simple: Gate’s growth is no longer about adding another trading pair or launching another product. It is about creating a wider financial infrastructure that can connect different markets and different types of users.
And if the momentum shown throughout August continues, the next stage of Gate’s evolution could be even more interesting.

TP2: 0.05097

Why this setup?
Why now? The daily trend is bearish and the 4h setup is armed with 95% confidence, so the market structure is clearly leaning lower. The 1h price sits at 0.06766, placing it inside the entry zone between 0.06627 and 0.06905. The 15m RSI is at 34.19, showing enough bearish momentum without being oversold yet. The 1h ATR of 0.005564 means each candle can easily cover the distance to TP1 at 0.05764 and TP2 at 0.05097

This profit has me feeling nervous, worried the market might come to its senses tomorrow and blacklist me. If MAGMA makes another move like this, I feel like I need to calm down.
I had just watched the market panic after the bearish news, but then noticed $MAGMA had stopped falling. It held steady immediately after the pullback, with funds quietly flowing in. This isn't panic—it's someone quietly working while others don't dare to move.
The sleepless nights paid off, and this profit feels great. From 0.22780 to 0.26099, with a return of +280.94%, all the pullback from the past few days was re
