Why Is Not Trading Sometimes the Better Decision?
In the cryptocurrency market, there is a strange phenomenon:
When the market is rising, people fear missing out; when it falls, they fear not buying the dip in time; when they see others making money, they can't help wanting to follow suit; after going several days without trading, they may even wonder if they're falling behind.
So many people start trading frequently.
But there is a question worth thinking about carefully:
Is the purpose of trading to catch every fluctuation, or to make decisions while understanding and being able to manage th

What is rolling backtesting? Why is continuously updating the test window more informative than testing just one historical period?
In cryptocurrency trading, a strategy may perform well only during a certain period of historical market conditions but fail to adapt to subsequent market changes. Testing just one fixed period can easily overlook how the strategy performs in different environments. Rolling backtesting continuously updates the test window, helping traders assess a strategy's stability more comprehensively.
First, what is rolling backtesting?

$APP Up 27% in a day to 317, with 24-hour trading volume at just 62.7M—I've been watching this price-volume divergence for three years, and every time it appears, it signals overheated sentiment. I put the current Fear & Greed Index at 78 (greed zone), with a +0.09% funding rate (longs are paying). Historical comparison: the last time $APP's funding rate broke 0.08% was two months ago, followed by a 22% pullback over the next 48 hours. Price surged straight up from a low of 247.72, then pulled back without holding the high of 343.36—a textbook FOMO-chasing structure.

South Korea's financial sector put out another crypto tax update today
The crypto gains tax, originally set to take effect in January 2027, has been proposed for another delay until 2029
Counting from 2020, this would be the fourth postponement
The basic rules remain largely unchanged: the portion of annual net gains above 2.5 million won is taxed at 22%, including local tax; they also want to add a provision allowing losses to be carried forward for 3 years
Why the delay? Officials say the US won't join the OECD CARF information exchange until 2029, and taxing gains early could put domestic t

I think this gold rally is only just getting started. Physical gold held by central banks is getting increasingly scarce. This isn’t simply a price issue; it’s a matter of inventory and delivery. According to data from the World Gold Council, central banks have been net buyers of more than 1,000 tonnes of gold for three consecutive years: about 1,136 tonnes in 2022, 1,037 tonnes in 2023, and 1,045 tonnes in 2024. That’s a clear step up from the average of 400 to 500 tonnes a year over the past decade. Meanwhile, the “visible” buffers—such as free-float inventories in London vaults and delivera

#BTCBackAbove80K #$ENS Technical Breakdown: Relief Rally or Reversal?
ENS/USDT is showing signs of recovery on the 4-hour chart, trading around $5.085 (+3.12%) after carving out a local bottom at $4.545.
Following a steady multi-week downtrend from the $6.460 high, the price found strong buyer support near $4.55, establishing a higher low around $4.66. The current bounce reflects renewed upside momentum as price action pushes back above the psychological $5.00 handle, testing immediate overhead resistance near $5.15–$5.20.

Zcash is approaching a major network upgrade that will reduce the time between blocks from 75 seconds to approximately 25 seconds.
The upgrade, called NU7, targets mainnet activation at block 3,543,405, expected around November 5 or 6.
That would make block production roughly three times faster than before.
For users, faster blocks can mean shorter waits for transaction confirmations, although the time required by exchanges and wallets will still depend on their own confirmation policies.
But speed isn't the only change.
NU7 will also retire support for older version 4 transactions and introdu

I called a long on ETH at 2228 on the 30th; it’s now at 2426U, up nearly 200 points.
Back then, it had just been dumped to 2178, falling even harder than BTC, and the whole screen was full of people cursing ETH for being useless.
This past week, it hit resistance below 2300 three times—2309, 2300, and 2301—and each time it was just a little short, only to get pushed back down. Quite a few guys couldn’t hold on and got out near their entry price.
This time it finally broke through. The first target at 2350 was hit, so I took half off and pocketed the gains. The rest topped out at 2443, just 7 p

Review of yesterday's 11.4 ZEC long/short thesis (posted late)
[translate-ref-0]: $ZEC
Yesterday morning's thesis failed to play out as expected, with no low-level range-bound trend. However, while reviewing the 11.3 thesis in the afternoon, I gave trading advice to recoup losses, and those gains were realized in the evening.

What Is a Range Trading Strategy? Why Might It Be More Suitable in a Sideways Market, Yet Risky During a Strong Trend Breakout?
In cryptocurrency trading, prices do not always move steadily up or down. When the market lacks a clear direction and prices repeatedly fluctuate within a certain range, a range trading strategy may be useful. But once the price truly breaks out of the range, the original trading logic may quickly become invalid.
First, what is a range trading strategy?
Range trading involves identifying support and resistance zones where prices repeatedly fluctuate, looking for buyin

$ETH Still wondering whether to buy? The direction is already clear: a drop back to the former resistance level at 2388 is the dividing line. If buyers hold it, the price could head for 2547; if they don’t, don’t try to catch a falling knife. Among similar public blockchains, its chart structure is the cleanest this time around. While others are still building a bottom, it has already broken out of its descending channel. During the sideways stretch before the halving $BTC , capital tended to flow into assets with this kind of clear-cut rhythm. Decide for yourself whether to get in—don’t wait

One thing I genuinely appreciate about what is happening in Enugu is the deliberate effort to position the state for the future.
I came across this update from the Enugu SME Center, and I think it deserves attention.
At the Southeast Blockchain & Games Week 2026, the Enugu MSME & Startup Agency joined developers, founders and creatives working to advance Africa’s Web3 and gaming ecosystem. The agency also participated in discussions on how African innovations can gain more visibility on the global stage.
But beyond the event, what interests me is the bigger picture.

What Is the Funding Rate? Why Can Perpetual Contracts Continue to Generate Holding Costs Even When Prices Do Not Move Significantly?
In cryptocurrency trading, many people focus only on price movements after opening a position and overlook the funding rate. For perpetual contract traders, even if prices move sideways for a long time, holding a position may still incur additional costs or generate income as long as the funding rate is not zero.
First, what is the funding rate?
The funding rate is a mechanism in perpetual contracts through which longs and shorts make periodic payments to each ot

Bitcoin Above 80 Thousand Dollars: Will the Recovery Be Permanent?
After dropping to the 75,600 dollar level on election night, the leading digital asset demonstrated a strong V-shaped recovery, climbing to the 80,475 dollar band. According to current data, the open was recorded at 77,958 dollars, the intraday low at 77,890 dollars, and the high at 81,196 dollars. Gate has officially launched Proof of Security, or PoSEC, extending beyond Proof of Reserves by disclosing the distribution of cold-storage and hot-wallet assets and introducing a cold storage coverage ratio to measure protection under extreme-risk scenarios. Gate’s latest cold storage coverage ratio stands at 104.58%, with 88.26% of assets in cold storage and 11.74% in hot wallets. A coverage ratio of at least 100% means cold-storage assets alone would still be sufficient to cover all user assets even if hot-wallet assets were fully lost. Exchange security is not only about whether reserves are sufficient, but also how assets are stored and protected under extreme conditions. Could cold storage coverage become a new industry standard?[👉 Learn more](https://gate.com/proof-of-security)
