improve the engine, then increasingly trust its first reasonable output.
and this applies to life too.

5 principles to live by
1. trust yourself to act,
not to predict everything.
2. let desire show you a direction
let a clear mind make a decision
once decided, move
don’t keep rethinking unless reality changes
3. care about how you look, how you’re perceived, and what others think,
but don’t let them author you.
4. build taste, competence, restraint,
and your own standards.
5. you don’t need to be fully understood.

you don’t want to spend your entire life frantically becoming competent
you want competence to become so deeply embodied that eventually you can relax because you know you can deal with things when they happen

do I like this or do I like what liking this says about me?
I think this is one of the central questions of modern identity

there’s one thing crypto trading taught me that I’ll probably carry forever
the ability to step outside of the hype and ask what is actually real
I remember in 2021 people were refusing nearly a million dollars for their BAYC NFTs
and they were proud of it
some even bought more because they genuinely thought the financial world was changing and they would become part of some new elite
you can buy one for around 15k now...
anyway, when everyone around you believes the same thing, the whole story starts feeling real
and once you accept the story, almost any decision inside it can make sense
that

I like cross checking MVPs with different models because i don’t really trust one model reviewing its own work
had Opus 5 review something GPT-5.6 Sol built and it said: "this is better than most production trading infrastructure I've reviewed"
sounds great obviously, but then I started thinking about what that sentence actually means
it’s not like Opus has access to other users code and remembers all the systems people have shown it
my best guess that "I’ve reviewed" is just the model speaking naturally about patterns it learned during training
anyone got an actual answer for why it happens?

that whole Horse token drama really shows how easy it is to exchange reputation for money in the heat of the moment
someone gives you X amount of your own coin
you say you won’t dump
then, you start discovering things about your character
and no matter what you do, it cannot please everyone
if I ever end up in a similar situation I’m not even going to pretend... I’ll just post “if you buy you die”
then dump on yall mfs once (or if) it gets into serious territory and fly my wife somewhere nice the next day
luckily I don’t have a large enough audience to be exposed to these moral tests

the funniest problem with crypto is how hard it is to even lose money here these days
you need to be online enough to understand the culture
technical enough to use wallets, exchanges, bridges and whatever new thing people are using this cycle
comfortable enough to send meaningful amounts of money between wallets
then you spend a few years learning how everything works... and eventually lose money anyway
the problem is once most of these people get burned, you can’t just replace them overnight
you need another generation of tech savvy people to grow up, get jobs, save some money and become int
